Originally from the Washington Metropolitan area, Brenda was an honor roll student throughout her academic career. She experienced the loss of her parents at an early age to alcohol and drug addiction but was blessed to have been raised by loving grandparents, who instilled in her a strong work ethic and the importance of personal integrity. Brenda is deeply involved in community service, currently serving as a board member for Catherine’s House, a transitional home for women and children experiencing homelessness, where she has held the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice Chair. She is currently the precinct chair for Mount Holly and previously served as a board member at St. Paul Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, since 2019, where she oversaw financial matters.
Brenda began her healthcare career as a medical receptionist at a prominent orthopedic practice in downtown Washington, DC, where she cultivated a strong interest in the administrative aspects of healthcare. Bringing over 26 years of industry expertise, she has held leadership positions in clinical operations management, revenue cycle management, business development, and strategic planning. Brenda currently serves as Director of PB Governance and Risk at CaroMont Health, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver education and guidance focused on mitigating compliance risks.
